Here are the full details of the makeup for this beautuful lady.

Subtle contouring, sexy eyes and innocent brows.

*I cleared the stray hairs and filled the sparse area on her brows.

*Matched the base to her natural skin w/ a mix of Mac's Prolong Wear 45+30 then set w/ Ben Nye's Neutral Set Colorless Translucent Powder.

*Defined her cheeks with Laguna (Nars) & gave it a healthy glow w/ Illamasqua's Blush.

*I gave her eyes a look that can go from an afternoon wedding affair to an evening soiree. All matte MAC + Bobbi Brown eyeshadows.

*A mix of OCC's Pretty Boy + Kava Kava on her lips.

Chelsea has a beautiful complexion. It would be a sin to cover her entire face with heavy foundation. Her only worry is that, her foundation might wear off coz she has really oily skin.

Here is the time to give the skin a much needed skin prepping. I skipped moisturizers/toners and proceeded with a good priming after cleansing her face (make sure to wipe off the excess cleansing agent). Light coverage of foundation + HD Blush on her 19-year-old-supple-cheeks + a bit of concealer on the undereye area then set the entire face w/ Banana Powder. After doing the eyes. I literally PRESSED the powder/foundation on her face to really mattify her skin and to seal everything. Considering the wedding ceremony is at 2pm w/ no airconditioning at a 33 degree Davao heat (always ask the client the event and its location). So all the anti-shine, no shimmer color on her face were applied. I saw this client by 8pm that day and her face was matte and fresh like I just did the whole face routine.

She's a 30 something mom of three. Doesn't she look gorgeous? She's really blessed w/ beautiful skin.

*I left her skin bare by mixing moisturizer + liquid foundation. A liquid concealer on her undereye just to brighten it up. 

*Applied cream blush on the apples of her cheeks to accentuate zee charming freckles. 

*I set the whole face with Ben Nye Neutral Set Powder. 

*The eyes was left simple. Smudged the liner a bit on the upper lash bed and set it w/ powder of same color to really make it lasting all through out the day. Swept a mocha shade of shadow from her lids extending a little above her crease and lots of mascara on her lash (top/bottom). 

*I reinforced the Ben Nye with powder/foundation by pressing it w/ a buffing brush. 

*Gave the hallow of her cheeks a bit of a touch of Nar's Laguna and Illamasqua's Blush on the apples to give it a natural flush. Finished it off w/ Orgasm to give it a bit of glow. 

*Lips was a mix of OCC's Grandma & Kava Kava.

One Woman Show!

Last Saturday, 29th of March 2014 was a one woman show full of makeup day. Not only that. I traveled the city's north to south area to do makeup of my clients.

But before my full day even started, my 6y.o. loving and  thoughtful niece asked me to do her makeup for their school's commencement move-up exercise.  I just swept HD Blush on her cheeks and curled and stroked mascara on her beautiful lashes and some pink gloss on her lips. It always makes her happy everytime I do her makeup whenever they have school activity. Congratulations, little one for bagging three medals. Love you, baby!

Second client of the day was Ms. Charish who booked me 3 months earlier. I really love it that clients book ahead of time. It means that they are really serious to looking really fabulous and respect our profession as makeup artists.  Ms Charish requested for an airbrush makeup. The challenge of doing makeup alone is that you don't have someone to assist you in carrying your makeups tools and other stuff. 

Ms Charish's concern was that her eyes appears even a lot smaller with more makeup. And it was a challenge to do makeup on her eyes coz' I've never encountered such tiny eyes. Even my niece's eyes don't compare. The hard part was the falsies application and curling her lashes. But I managed. Thanks heaven. 

I gave her smokey eyes as the event she's going is a night shinding. Some natural hair falsies with really thin to invisible base to really give her eye a defined lashes and nude lippy.

Saw these photos on Eight Production's AVP of last Saturday's event. My client looked so gorgeous. 

Ms Isza is my 17 y.o. client who is attending their school's formal dinner. She was undecided if she'll braids or curls. But when I saw her dress. BRAIDs will totally nail it. Gave her a really fresh makeup. She said she lacks sleep coz of her studies and her skin is taking a toll of all the stresses of her school responsibilities. So what I gave her is a really fresh makeup appropriate for her age. :) Defined brows and lashes and some pale pink lippies.

It was a busy day really and it was fun doing all of their makeup. Fullfillment comes to you when you enjoy what you're doing and you see happy clients telling you they're satisfied and send you gorge photos wearing your hair and makeup.

Photoshoot for Roland Michelle S/S 2014

One of the many things that I like about this job is being able to work with a lot of different people in all sorts of back ground.  I can say that I have worked with different nationalities and races in this artsy job I'm in.  From French, to Aussies, Americans, Canadians, women of color and to Filipinos of mixed decent and so on and so forth. Not to mention the different skin types each races have that I find it really challenging to tackle everytime I work with my brushes.

Last March 22, 2014. I got a call to do a model's makeup for a fashion shoot to one of FIDA's graduates' design collection.  It required a lot of hair and makeup changes as per client's demands and how the shoot will be treated.  Photo-shoots for a HMUA are moments where our patience and artistry is tested.  And with it, your passion and commitment to the craft must be of unlimited resource.  

This particular project is a 2-minute photo and video presentation of the designers collection. That 2-minute length may sound short but it can take hours to have a really good take and be included into the final edit.  And that 2-minutes is a tiresome job for HMUA as touch ups is needed all the time. Not to mention the 3 location change and wardrobe to hair and makeup change.

Here is the model with my hair and makeup. Her name is Bushra, of Filipino-Jordanian decent. One of the prettiest faces I've worked with.

Makeup for HAVAIANAS Davao Obrigada 2014

I feel so blessed to be trusted by some of Davao's prettiest faces and be hired all the time to do their makeup. It's an honor as well as a privilege to glam up these beautiful faces.

Last March 12, 2014, Havaianas' Davao launch its SUMMER 2014 Collection in a fun and summer-ish way thru a fashion show, "HAVAIANAS Davao Obrigada 2014." Modelled by Davao's real people (no models) and most beautiful.  I was lucky I get a call from my regular client to do her makeup and of her daughters. I am so happy that my clientele has always been loyal to my services and it's a wonderful feeling to always hear from them wanting your makeup expertise. <3

It's always a must for me to take photos of every client I have. Although I have been in this business for quite some time already and have somehow built a name for myself in the industry. I still need to build my portfolio for future and inquiring clients. Part of the process of taking photos is also keeping track of my work and hopefully once I decided to have a website of my makeup artistry. A website that can showcase my work as a MUA with files good and HD photos. #fingerscrossed And on that note. I'm in dire need of a camera lens. Lol
